ஜஹ்ரா மாவட்டத்தில் ஒரு திருமண பந்தலில் ஏற்பட்ட தீ விபத்தில் 41 பேர் பலியாகியுள்ளனர். மேலும் 61 பேர் படுகாயமடைந்துள்ளனர். இதில் பலரது நிலைமை மோசமாக உள்ளது.
திருமண விருந்து நிகழ்ச்சிக்காக பெண்களுக்கு என தனியாக அமைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த பிரமாண்டமான பந்தலில் இந்தத் தீ விபத்து ஏற்பட்டது. இதில் பெண்கள், குழந்தைகள் உள்பட 41 பேர் பலியாயினர்.
தீ பரவியதும் அங்கிருந்த கூட்டத்தினர் தப்பிக்க முயன்றதால் ஏற்பட்ட நெரிசலில் பலரும் கீழே விழுந்து மிதிபட்டு மயங்கினர். இவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் பலியாகிவிட்டனர்.

Their Highnesses the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf AlـAhmad AlـSabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser AlـMohammed AlـSabah also sent cables carrying similar sentiments.
His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser AlـMohammed AlـSabah on Sunday visited those injured in the fire Saturday, where be became acquainted with the medical facilities being granted to them at Jahra Hospital.
In a statement to reporters, His Highness Sheikh Nasser hailed the procedures of the Ministry of Health in terms of the speedy transfer of the injured to hospital to receive necessary treatment and hospitals'' "immediate absorption of impacts of this unfortunate incident."
He stressed that the government "will not hesitate to provide full healthcare to the injured of this incident."
He expressed deep sorrow for the victims of the fire, calling for God to bestow his mercy on the deceased.
For his part, acting Parliament Speaker Abdullah AlـRoumi on Sunday expressed his deep condolences to the families of the "martyrs of Jahra fire," describing the incident as "painful." In the tour accompanying His Highness the Prime Minister to Jahra Hospital, AlـRoumi hailed to reporters the efforts undertaken by the Ministries of Health and Interior during the incident, the speed of their response to the tragic incident, in addition to the cooperation of citizens and residents of Jahra.
Asked whether there are a number of victims that have not yet been identified, AlـRoumi explained that the Interior Ministry has assigned a hotline for citizens to inquire and identify victims.
He described the incident as "a great loss" and asked God to grant mercy upon the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
Meanwhile, President of the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) Yousef AlـHajji said on Sunday that the IICO''s branch in Jahra Governorate had offered assistance and aid to those injured in the fire.
In a press release, AlـHajji called on all civil society institutions and other charitable organizations to also support the families of both the deceased and injured, "either financially or morally, during this ordeal."
Moreover, AlـHajji praised the efforts exerted by the medical teams, hospitals and fire department during and after the incident. ـKUNA
